Dear
Duhks Fans:
After almost a decade of Duhkdom and much deliberation, I
have decided to take a new path. Although I'm not
sure where it is taking me, the peacefulness I feel tells
me it is the right decision.
I have so much gratitude to you, the fans, who have
supported us these past 8 years. You've cheered us
on, through thick and thin, and blown us away with your
beauty, your stories, your joys and sorrows. Thanks
to you, we've had experience after experience of a
lifetime, and you've been there right along with us all the
way.
Playing in the Duhks has been an amazing education and
evolution, and I'm so thankful to have had the opportunity
to learn and grow with every member, past and present;
Leonard, Jordan, Jessee, Rodrigo, Scott, Sarah and
Christian, and a big thanks to their families for putting
up with us! (props to Aoife for our awesome tour of Ireland
and Denmark too!). Thanks to our producers - Mark,
Gary, Bela, Tim and Jay - you pushed us beyond our
perceived limits and brought prospective and grace to our
fumbling but loving hearts. Thanks to anyone who ever
booked (and took a chance on) us, to all the amazing folk
festivals we've had the privilege of playing, and a most
honorable mention to our all-time favorite homecoming
festival, Mag/Springfest.
Thanks to CAA and all our managers over the years for the
wisdom we learned by working through thick and thin, thanks
to all the crew and tour managers who have dedicated months
on end to making our lives easier, and a big thanks to the
folks at Sugarhill Records (and their sister label
Vanguard) for putting their hearts, souls and time into
helping us realize our dreams. There are so many
people who volunteered their time, money and resources to
help nurture our creativity and our business. It's
truly astounding to think about!
As all good things must come to and end, my time with the
band has drawn to a close. I wish the best for the
band, and excitedly await its new incarnation, this time
from a new perspective.
Love,
Tania
